| Richard D. Katcher was a partner in the Corporate Department at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz from 1971 through 2009 and is now Of Counsel to the Firm. His practice has focused on mergers, acquisitions, securities law and corporate governance. Mr. Katcher has represented prominent corporate entities from, among others, the communications, pharmaceutical, consumer products, retail and investment banking fields in numerous M&A transactions, joint ventures and recapitalizations. He has counseled boards and non-management directors during crisis conditions as well as with respect to numerous corporate governance matters. His work includes domestic as well as cross-border matters.
Mr. Katcher is a frequent lecturer for continuing education programs and an active member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, where he served as Chairman of the Special Committee on Mergers, Acquisitions and Corporate Control Contests.
Mr. Katcher is a graduate of New York University School of Law (LLB 1966), where he was a John Norton Pomeroy Scholar and a member of The New York University Law Review and the Order of the Coif. |
