Jeffrey A. Watiker is counsel in the Corporate Department at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz with a focus on financial institutions.  His practice includes representing banks, thrifts and other financial institutions in connection with mergers and acquisitions as well as regulatory, enforcement and related matters. 

He received Master in City Planning and Bachelor of Science degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1981.  He received a  J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1986.  Previously, he was a senior regulatory counsel with Citigroup.

Mr. Watiker is a member of the New York and District of Columbia Bars and is an associate member of the Virginia State Bar.  He is also a member of the American Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association.
