Jeffrey W. Coyle

Jeffrey Coyle is an associate in Wachtell Lipton’s Litigation Department.

Jeffrey received a B.A. magna cum laude in Political Science and Spanish from the University of San Diego in 2007, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He received his J.D. from Columbia Law School in 2016, where he was a James Kent Scholar.

Prior to joining the firm, Jeffrey served as an officer in the United States Navy from 2007 to 2012. During his time in the Navy, Jeffrey served on the command ship for the United States Seventh Fleet based in Yokosuka, Japan, and later was responsible for the training program and maintaining crew proficiency aboard a newly-commissioned ship stationed in San Diego.

Jeffrey clerked on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit for Judge Richard R. Clifton and on the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York for Judge Lewis A. Kaplan. Jeffrey is admitted to practice in the State of New York, the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
