Cynthia Fernandez Lumermann
Cynthia Fernandez Lumermann is a Partner in Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz’s Litigation Department, which she joined in 2013. She has represented clients in diverse industries, including financial institutions, media and technology companies, and consumer goods and industrial firms. Her practice includes the representation of corporations and directors in derivative and class action lawsuits, corporate governance matters, complex commercial and securities litigation, and arbitration.
Ms. Fernandez Lumermann received an A.B. cum laude from Harvard College in 2004. She completed a J.D. magna cum laude from New York University School of Law in 2011 where she was a member of the Order of the Coif and the Developments Editor of the New York University Journal of International Law and Politics. She was also a recipient of the Maurice Goodman Memorial Prize for outstanding scholarship and character. Following law school, Ms. Fernandez Lumermann served as a law clerk to the Honorable Kenneth M. Karas of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York and the Honorable Joseph A. Greenaway of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
In 2021, Ms. Fernandez Lumermann was recognized as a “Rising Star” by the Minority Corporate Counsel Association and in 2023, Ms. Fernandez Lumermann was named one of the next generation of legal leaders in America by Lawdragon.
