Ian J. Berkelaar is an associate in Wachtell Lipton’s Litigation Department.

Ian received his J.D. from Columbia Law School where he was a James Kent Scholar, recipient of the Ruth Bader Ginsburg Prize, recipient of the Charles Bathgate Beck Prize, and Senior Editor of the Columbia Law Review. He received his B.A. with high honors in Political Theory from Michigan State University, where he received the Jack Chapin Prize and the Nelson and Marlene Cummings Scholarship.

Prior to joining the Firm, Ian clerked on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit for the Honorable Peter J. Phipps.
