Ian J. Berkelaar
Ian J. Berkelaar is an associate in Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen and Katz’s Litigation Department.
Ian received his J.D. from Columbia Law School, where he was a James Kent Scholar, recipient of the Ruth Bader Ginsburg Prize, recipient of the Charles Bathgate Beck Prize, and Senior Editor of the Columbia Law Review. He received his B.A. with high honors in Political Theory from Michigan State University, where he received the Jack Chapin Prize and the Nelson and Marlene Cummings Scholarship.
Prior to joining the Firm, Ian clerked for Third Circuit Judge Phipps during the 2022–2023 term, for SDNY Judge Cronan during the 2024–2025 term and for Second Circuit Judge Sullivan from August 2025 through February 2026.
