Matthew T. Carpenter
Matthew T. Carpenter is a partner in the corporate department at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz.
Matt’s practice focuses on mergers, acquisitions and dispositions, securities matters, takeover and shareholder activism defense and corporate governance. He has advised a broad range of public and private clients across multiple industries, including financial services, technology, media and telecomm, sports, life sciences, real estate and private equity.
Matt received an A.B. magna cum laude from Bowdoin College in 2010, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and received the Paul H. Douglas Prize in Economics. He received his J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law in 2016, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif. Matt serves as a member of the Make-A-Wish Metro New York Junior Board.
