Ilene Gotts named New York’s “Lawyer of the Year” by Best Lawyers
Ilene Knable Gotts, a partner in Wachtell Lipton’s Antitrust Department, has been named “Lawyer of the Year” for 2024 by Best Lawyers.
This award acknowledges lawyers who have attained the highest level of peer recognition and professional achievement. Ilene has distinguished herself as a leading strategist for clients on complex antitrust matters and has played an integral role in some of the most important mergers and acquisitions spanning various industries over the past four decades.
Ilene previously worked as a staff attorney in the Federal Trade Commission’s Bureaus of Competition and Consumer Protection. Additionally, she has held several leadership positions, which include serving on the American Bar Association’s Board of Governors from 2015 to 2018 and as the chair of the Antitrust Law section from 2009 to 2010.
