Lam, Kling & Green Recognized as Dealmakers of the Year Finalists by New York Law Journal
Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz partners David Lam, Jake Kling, and Steve Green have been named finalists for Dealmakers of the Year in the New York Law Journal’s 2026 New York Legal Awards for their work advising Pfizer in its November 2025 acquisition of Metsera.
The transaction, valued at approximately $10 billion, followed a highly contested bidding process and positioned Pfizer to strengthen its presence in the rapidly growing obesity-treatment market.
Lam, Kling, and Green were selected for their work as our team navigated a complex and fast-moving competitive bidding process after a competing bid emerged from Novo Nordisk. In a matter of days, they identified critical legal and structural flaws in the rival proposal, pursued coordinated litigation in both Delaware and federal court, and helped secure a successful outcome for Pfizer at every stage of the process, ultimately clearing the way for Pfizer to complete the acquisition of Metsera.
The team was previously recognized by The American Lawyer, which named them Dealmakers of the Year for the same transaction.
