As global M&A reached $1.3 trillion in the first quarter of 2026—the strongest start to a year on record—corporate partner Karessa Cain spoke with Bloomberg Law about the factors sustaining deal activity amid ongoing global uncertainty.
“I think people are trying to keep their options open and taking it day by day given the uncertainty and volatility, but at the same time trying to keep their eye on the longer term and the bigger picture,” Cain said. “The world is changing so fast and there’s so much disruption that not doing anything is not an option for a lot of companies.”
