United States Steel Corporation in its $14.9 billion merger with Nippon Steel Corporation

On December 18, 2023, United States Steel Corporation (NYSE: X) and Nippon Steel Corporation (TSE: 5401) announced that they have entered into a definitive merger agreement under which Nippon will acquire U. S. Steel for $55 per share in cash for a total enterprise value of $14.9 billion.
