AvalonBay Communities in its $431.5 million acquisition of six Dallas-Fort Worth apartment communities from BSR Real Estate

On February 27, 2025, AvalonBay Communities, Inc. (NYSE: AVB) announced that it has entered into an agreement with BSR Real Estate Investment Trust (TSX: HOM.U and HOM.UN), BSR Trust, LLC and certain holders of Class B Units of BSR Trust, to acquire six apartment communities in the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area for $431.5 million, with the consideration composed of a cash payment and limited partnership interests in a newly formed “DownREIT” subsidiary of AvalonBay.
