OpenAI in its $40 billion investment led by SoftBank at a $300 billion valuation

On March 31, 2025, OpenAI announced $40 billion in new equity funding at a $300 billion post-money valuation.  The investment is being led by SoftBank Group Corporation (TYO: 9984), and will help OpenAI continue building AI systems that drive scientific discovery, enable personalized education, enhance human creativity, and pave the way toward AGI that benefits all of humanity.
