Kwanza Jones and José E. Feliciano in their acquisition of the San Diego Padres

On May 2, 2026, the San Diego Padres announced that the Seidler family has agreed to sell control of the franchise to a new ownership group led by investors and philanthropic leaders Kwanza Jones and José E. Feliciano, ushering in a new era of ownership in the largest MLB transaction of all time.  Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz is serving as legal advisor to Kwanza Jones, José E.
